I came across Mama Shelter recently, a hotel and hostel combination that's a little different. It was created by the co-founders of Club Med and designed by Philippe Starck. All 172 rooms are private and cost from €125. They are equipped with with 5 star bedding, a kitchenette, a 24 inch iMac (tv, radio, cd/dvd, internet & free wifi) and shower-only bathrooms. With snacking options, communal dining, the chic chic bar, the island bar and DJ's at week-ends, it has managed to create in its own words 'an eclectic and electric ambience'.
