I don't get too many postcards these days but I got a nice one during the week. It came from an Irish 4* hotel complete with images of a smiling receptionist, an empty pool and a tempting breakfast tray. Then I turned it over. 2 Nights B&B and 1 Dinner for just €85 per person sharing. Complimentary internet access and full leisure facilities were also included in the rate. This is astonishing value in a full-service, 4* property and an indication of just how tough the market is at present.
