IRISH HOSPITALITY INSTITUTE NATIONAL MANAGERS CONFERENCE
I thoroughly enjoyed the The Irish Hospitality Institute's conference today (21/5). With chairperson, Sarah Grennan, the speakers included John Brennan, Quinlan Private, Joan Scales, The Irish Times, Kevin Dempsey, Kevin Dempsey Distributors, Austin Hickey, BDO Simpson Xavier, Paul O'Toole, Tourism Ireland and Helen McDaid, Failte Ireland. They were all excellent. Despite the current climate, the overall mood was positive. Expected visitor numbers though declining, are still strong (7 million) and banks are becoming more realistic in their approach to the sector. Shane Cookman, The Fylan Collection was elected to succeed Ewan Plenderleith as President of the Institute.
