FutureBrand recently published its 2009 Country Brand Index (CBI).
This index ranks 102 countries in terms of their brand strength in tourism.
The 'Top Country Brands Per Association' featured headings such as Art & Culture, Resort and Lodging Options, Safety, Natural Beauty, Ease of Travel, Rest & Relaxation, Nightlife, Shopping, Fine Dining, Families, Outdoor Activities & Sports, Friendly Locals, Value for Money, Standard of Living, Conferences, Quality Products, Desire to Visit/Visit Again, Advanced Technology, Easiest to Do Business In, Environmentalism, Political Freedom and Most Like to Live In.
Ireland is ranked second highest in the 'Friendly Locals' and 'Ease of Travel' categories. Unfortunately, I don't know our overall position as this information is not available in the Executive Summary.
