NO SPACE FOR COACHES TO PARK

Irish economic and social development has suffered from a lack of integrated policy for some time. Our public transport system is testament to that. Internationally, coach transport is frequently used to transport visiting delegates to/from convention centres and entertainment venues. Yet amazingly, new venues such as the Convention Centre Dublin, the Aviva Stadium and the O2 Arena do not have spaces for coaches to park. This was highlighted in an excellent letter to The Irish Times by Gerry Mullins, Chief Executive of the Coach Tourism & Transport Council. Just another example of why planners need to take a broader perspective when assessing planning applications!
