GERMANY REDUCES HOTEL VAT RATES
This week, political leaders gathered in Germany to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
German hoteliers had other reasons to celebrate. From the 1st of January 2010, VAT on hotel accommodation will fall from 16% to 7%! But it's not all one way. VAT on other services (including restaurants) is being increased by 3% to 19%.
