TOURISM IN NEW ZEALAND TO GET AN EXTRA $20MILLION THIS YEAR
As the Department of Finance prepares to reduce the budget allocation for tourism marketing, it is notable that the government in New Zealand is doing the opposite. It recently approved an extra $20 million in funding for tourism in 2009/2010. I know it helps that the Prime Minister, John key, is also the 'Minister of Tourism' but it's yet another example of the priority the sector is afforded there.
