Given what I said in earlier posts, I was pleased to hear this week that that a political party has proposed the abolition of €10 travel tax. On Wednesday (27/5), Fine Gael launched A Fresh Start for Jobs in Small Business - an 18 point blueprint to support small businesses and save jobs. It recognises that the tax 'acts as a disincentive to tourists to come to Ireland and will do further damage to our struggling tourism sector'. Removing the tax won't solve the challenges faced by the sector but it would be a positive step in the right direction.
