THE TRAVEL & TOURISM COMPETITIVENESS REPORT 2009 - WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM

In a report by the World Economic Forum on the most attractive environments for developing the travel and tourism industry, Ireland is ranked 18th. The ranking measures the different regulatory and business-related issues that have been identified as levers for improving travel and tourism competitiveness in countries around the world. Six European countries are in the 'top ten'. I hope the Tourism Renewal Group will review the Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Report 2009 to ensure Ireland chooses approporiate policies to enable it to move up the rankings alongside its European neighbours.
