William Hastings, the chariman of Hastings Hotels recently received a Knighthood in the Queens' Birthday Honours List for his services to the tourism industry. It got me thinking that here in Ireland, many people have made a tremendous contribution to the tourism sector but we have no national honours sytem to recognise their efforts.
